Grace and Truth Evangelism

After pressing on, we were able to get a ministry established at Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, LA. Start date was August 21st, Tuesday from noon until 2 pm.

We had Maureen, Toby, Jimmy, Zoe, Thomas, Jacob, and David for the opening day. We did a little open-air preaching to start things off, and we were met with enthusiasm from the students.

It is also the start of football season in New Orleans. We had an evangelism team of Zoe, David, Jimmy, and a few other people from the church Zoe attends join us. This was the first time for an event like this for Jimmy. He was not sure what to expect.

The people going to the football game are single-minded. They are in a rush to get to the stadium to worship their team, the New Orleans Saints.

However, the saints were outside proclaiming Jesus Christ to the fans.

To engage in stop-light evangelism, you have to be clear, concise, and to the point. We have one and a half minutes to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ over our loudspeakers.

A few one-on-one gospel conversations were made. Thousands of gospel tracts were handed out, and the gospel of Jesus Christ was presented for three hours straight over the loud speakers.

At least the people scalping tickets now know what the gospel is. They heard it enough times. But perhaps not enough. We’ll be back for the next home game.
